What it is
Mori turns the home screen into a living dashboard. Instead of a static image or a looping video, the wallpaper is a hand-crafted biome that shifts with things the phone already knows: the time of day, the battery level, health metrics. Nothing leaves the device.
How it’s built
- A rendering engine that doesn’t allocate per frame. Live wallpapers run all day, so the draw loop is written to avoid garbage collection pauses and keep battery cost low.
- A custom DSL for describing scenes and the rules that change them, so a biome is data rather than code.
- A companion desktop editor for building wallpapers, managing their state and tuning performance before they reach a phone.
Why it matters to this site
The scene at the top of the home page is the same idea in the browser: a landscape driven by real signals instead of decoration.
